Functions:

The South Sudan Peace Commission performs the following functions and duties:

• To promote peaceful co-existence amongst the people of South Sudan
• To advise the government on matters related to peace.

Structure:

The Commission is comprised of the following administrative units:

• Directorate of Communication and Public Relations
• Directorate of Planning and Research
• Directorate of Gender

Projects and Programs:

• Peace and reconciliation between conflicting communities
• Development of early warning systems
• SSPC campaign for peaceful elections in South Sudan
• Establishment of South Sudan Peace Resource Centre
