Reconstruction and Development Fund

Functions:

The South Sudan Reconstruction and Development Fund (SSRDF) performs the following functions and duties:

  • SSRDF solicits, raises funds from the domestic and international donors and disburses such funds for the reconstruction and rehabilitation of the infrastructure of the South; for resettlement and reintegration of internally and externally displaced persons; and to address past imbalances in regional development and infrastructure.
  • SSRDF is also in the process of developing a suitable monitoring and evaluation system to ensure accountability, transparency, efficiency, equity and fairness in the utilization of resources.

Structure:

  • General Administration and Human Resource currently headed by Chief Administrator Mrs Joyce Araba Aligo,
  • Department of Programs and Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) currently headed by the Chief Project Coordinator Mr Paul Tiopic Liet, and
  • Department of Accounts currently headed by Mr George Lowah Walla

Projects and Programs:

  • Establishment of Credit Finance Institution;
  • Small and Medium Enterprises Development;
  • Establishment of Transco Transport System in South Sudan;
  • Mango and other Fruit Development;
  • Establishment of Fish Cooperatives;
  • Establishment of Abattoirs/Slaughter house;
  • Model Villages as Centres of Transformation: (i) Rural Housing; (ii) Rural Energy and Electrification; (iii) Community Markets; (iv) Community Centres; (v) Rural Water Development;
  • Evening Programme for the Pastoralist Communities;
  • Community based initiative Driven Development;
  • Training and Capacity Building for RSS Institutions;
  • Master Plan for Reconstruction and of South Sudan Infrastructure and Construction.
