Vision:

The vision of the Ministry of Transport and Roads is to develop a safe, secure and efficient transportation system for a prosperous South Sudan.

Mission:

The mission is to serve the people of South Sudan by ensuring a fast, safe, efficient, accessible, convenient and affordable intermodal transportation system that meets the vital national interests and enhances the quality of life of people today and into the future.

The sector will provide a level of service that reflects the importance of transport infrastructure and transportation services for the future of South Sudan.

Key policies factors for measurement of the effectiveness of transport sector delivery will be accessibility, mobility, safety, quality, of life, system preservation, management and productivity, and organization excellence.

Functions:

The Ministry of Roads and Transport performs the following functions and duties:

• Establish and oversee the implementation of the legal framework and regulations for the development of the transport network of South Sudan;
• Develop and execute an integrated transport strategy for South Sudan;
• Develop and oversee specific strategies for the development of the aviation industry in South Sudan.

Structure:

The ministry is organized into several directorates and administrative units.
